Teotihuacán Pyramids – Hot Air Balloon Tour From Mexico City
Being the region's most visited destination, Teotihuacán (teh-oh-tee-wah-kahn) will keep impressing its visitors with its awe inspiring pyramids, set amid what was once Mesoamerica’s greatest city. The sprawling site compares to the ancient ruins of the Yucatán and Chiapas for significance and anyone lucky enough to visit here will be amzed by the astonishing technological feat of the Teotihuacán civilization.
Located 50km northeast of Mexico City, in a mountain-ringed offshoot of the Valle de México, Teotihuacán is known for its two impressive pyramids, the Pirámide del Sol (Pyramid of the Sun) and the Pirámide de la Luna (Pyramid of the Moon), which dominate the remains of the metropolis.
Though ancient Teotihuacán covered more than 20 sq km, most of what can be seen today lies along nearly 2km of the Calzada de los Muertos.
TOUR OVERVIEW
Can you imagine flying over the Teotihucán Valley, gazing at the awe inspiring architectural site from high above? Enjoy an unforgettable experience, admiring one of the most important Mesoamerican civilizations from a bird's eye perspective.
Our meeting point is at the Independence Angel statue in Mexico City, where your English speaking guide will welcome you and prepare you for your experience. As we wait for the balloon to fill with hot air we will enjoy a coffee or a snack to prepare us for take-off. Once the balloon is ready, we will climb into the spacious basket and set out on our unique adventure in the skies.
As we reach altitude and keep approaching the ancient valley, we will get our first glimpse of the large pyramids. We will fly over the Teotihucán Valley and admire the best views of the most visited archaeological site in Mexico, in the comfort of our exclusive balloon without the hustle and bustle of the visitor crowds below. The flight will last between 30 minutes and 1 hour, depending on weather conditions.
Soaring high above, we will have a unique perspective of the "City of the Gods" admiring wonders such as the Sun Pyramid, the Quetzalpápalotl Palace, the "Road of the Dead", "Pyramid of the Moon" and Quetzalcoatl Temple. Your guide will fill you into the colorful, historical details of the ancient Aztec culture and the significance of the Teotihucán Valley.
As we finish our hot air balloon flight we will follow the worldwide balloon tradition with a toast and a full buffet breakfast. All participants will also receive a certificate to accredit them as certified hot-air-ballooners!
After we filled our bellies with a delicious breakfast buffet, we will continue to the Teotihucán ruins to get a close up experience of the various pyramids, plazas, murals and palaces. Stroll around the site for around 2 hours at your own pace.
But that's not all! We'll attend an artisan workshop to learn about Teotihuacan customs. We'll learn some of the uses of obsidian, the importance of the agave plant, how mead is fermented and how silver pieces are made. As the finishing touch to this special day, we'll enjoy a tasting of pulque, tequila, cactus liqueur, and mezcal. Salud!
After an exciting and event-filled 8 hour tour we will end our tour at our starting point in Mexico City.

The following cancellation policy applies only for Day Tours (DOES NOT apply for Multi-Day Tours).
TOUR POLICIES
Due to the nature of our business, the logistics involved with organizing tours and the high reservation demand following refund policies apply:
- 100% refund less credit card processing fees will only be granted if booked via our website www.taotravel365.tours AND if canceled more than 7 days before the start of the tour.
- 50% refund less credit card processing fees will be granted for cancellations received less than 7 days AND more than 48 hours before the tour start date.
- No refund will be granted for cancelations received less than 48 hours before the tour start date.
All sales are final.
For all bookings made via outside portals such as, but not limited to Viator, Expedia, Airbnb, please refer and adhere to the respective cancellation policy of the portal that you booked with.
If you are unable to realize the reservation, contact us as soon as possible and we will try to arrange and reschedule the same or different tour for you.
If you are not at the designated meeting point by the time of your scheduled reservation or pick up, Tao Travel 365 reserves the right not to provide a refund. However, we will always try our best to locate you at the meeting point and call your WhatsApp number, if one was provided. After all, we want you to participate in our tour and have fun. That is our goal!
CANCELED OR POSTPONED TOURS
Occasionally, tours are canceled or postponed due to weather or ocean conditions, mechanical failure, or other unforeseen events. Should this occur, we will attempt to contact you about the cancellations and to inform you of refund or exchange procedures for that tour. For exact instructions on any canceled or postponed tour, please contact us. In the case of a cancellation of your tour by Tao Travel 365, we will refund your tour or schedule you for another tour, as detailed below.
REFUNDS
All sales are final. No refunds are available unless a tour is canceled or postponed, or we are given 48 hours advance noticed whereby a 50 percent refund will be awarded. We will offer refunds of the full face value of the tour(s) that are canceled or postponed (or, if a discounted tour, then instead the discounted tour price paid). No refunds are offered on any service, payment processing or convenience fees. To receive a refund for a canceled or postponed tour, contact us at sales@taotravel365.tours within 3 days of the tour cancellation and write "refund" in the subject line. Instructions will be provided in order to obtain your refund.
TOUR EXCHANGES
No tour exchanges are offered by Tao Travel 365. While in some extreme cases we may offer this service (such as a cancellation by Tao Travel 365), it is not guaranteed and often impossible.
