Xalli Resort, La Ventanilla – Mazunte

WELCOME TO LA VENTANILLA

Some 2.5km down the road west from Mazunte, a sign points to the tiny fishing village of La Ventanilla. Aside from featuring a long wild white sand beach that is sprinkled with black iron deposits, La Ventanilla is home to a community-led eco-project protecting turtles and crocodiles in the large lagoon. You can take a boat trip on the lagoon to see crocodiles, and go bird-watching or ride a horse along the beach. Somehow this tiny village manages to have two rival cooperatives offering these services: both have some English-speaking guides and do an excellent job.

THE HOTEL

Known for being the best hotel in La Ventanilla, Xalli hosts 10 elegantly decorated guest rooms, a beach restaurant overlooking the vast white sand beach with its Pacific Ocean backdrop & a cute tiki-style bar ready to serve margaritas and other drinks throughout the day.
