Bali Cooking Class & Culture Experience
If you think a stroll through a city’s bustling market is a required activity during a vacation, love discovering an off-the-beaten-path restaurant serving organic, home-cooked meals and pass over touristy souvenirs and trinkets in favor of learning about the culture, including its rituals, spices and foodstuffs, you’ll relish this experience.
This cooking class takes guests to a traditional Balinese property, located amidst rice fields close to Ubud, where the owner Putu will teach her guests how to make delicious Balinese dishes in her traditional kitchen and learn about Balinese offerings and how to prepare them from scratch. Guests will share a communal cooking area with a gas and wood-fired grills; Putu will teach her guests how to shop at the local market for ingredients, how to prepare and cook traditional Balinese recipes while sharing information about her interesting culture.
Our hope is to connect travelers with culinary traditions passed down through generations, while at the same time supporting locals and providing meaningful income around the world.
TOUR OVERVIEW
Your friendly English speaking tour guide will pick you up from your lodging by 7:00am (pick up times may vary depending on where in Bali you are located) and take you to the a traditional market in Ubud, where your cooking class chef Putu will be waiting for you. Stroll through the fragrant market stalls and learn about various indigenous spices and vegetables that will be used in your recipes later on during your cooking experience.
On your way to the cooking class kitchen, Chef Putu will stop at one of the rice fields and explain about their significance and about the rice growing process.
Upon arriving you will be greeted by an open kitchen setting, located amidst rice fields. Your experience begins with a cultural overview of the Balinese believe system and its “canang sari”, the ever-present offerings, based in a woven bamboo container that include rice, flowers, incense, sweets, fruits, spices and sometimes a cigarette. Learn how to prepare one of the offerings and about its significance in Bali life.
As you start preparing several delicious recipes, sweet Chef Putu will instruct you on how to cut, chop and cook. As lunch time approaches and the air fills with delicious aromas of the dishes that you just cooked, you will be rewarded with a buffet containing a delicious soup, various satay, vegetables, sauces, and a dessert.
As your tour concludes, your happy driver will return you to your lodging. Sit back, relax and pad your content tummy. We know you will have a satisfied smile on your face.

The following cancellation policy applies only for Day Tours (DOES NOT apply for Multi-Day Tours).
TOUR POLICIES
Due to the nature of our business, the logistics involved with organizing tours and the high reservation demand following refund policies apply:
- 100% refund less credit card processing fees will only be granted if booked via our website www.taotravel365.tours AND if canceled more than 7 days before the start of the tour.
- 50% refund less credit card processing fees will be granted for cancellations received less than 7 days AND more than 48 hours before the tour start date.
- No refund will be granted for cancelations received less than 48 hours before the tour start date.
All sales are final.
For all bookings made via outside portals such as, but not limited to Viator, Expedia, Airbnb, please refer and adhere to the respective cancellation policy of the portal that you booked with.
If you are unable to realize the reservation, contact us as soon as possible and we will try to arrange and reschedule the same or different tour for you.
If you are not at the designated meeting point by the time of your scheduled reservation or pick up, Tao Travel 365 reserves the right not to provide a refund. However, we will always try our best to locate you at the meeting point and call your WhatsApp number, if one was provided. After all, we want you to participate in our tour and have fun. That is our goal!
CANCELED OR POSTPONED TOURS
Occasionally, tours are canceled or postponed due to weather or ocean conditions, mechanical failure, or other unforeseen events. Should this occur, we will attempt to contact you about the cancellations and to inform you of refund or exchange procedures for that tour. For exact instructions on any canceled or postponed tour, please contact us. In the case of a cancellation of your tour by Tao Travel 365, we will refund your tour or schedule you for another tour, as detailed below.
REFUNDS
All sales are final. No refunds are available unless a tour is canceled or postponed, or we are given 48 hours advance noticed whereby a 50 percent refund will be awarded. We will offer refunds of the full face value of the tour(s) that are canceled or postponed (or, if a discounted tour, then instead the discounted tour price paid). No refunds are offered on any service, payment processing or convenience fees. To receive a refund for a canceled or postponed tour, contact us at sales@taotravel365.tours within 3 days of the tour cancellation and write "refund" in the subject line. Instructions will be provided in order to obtain your refund.
TOUR EXCHANGES
No tour exchanges are offered by Tao Travel 365. While in some extreme cases we may offer this service (such as a cancellation by Tao Travel 365), it is not guaranteed and often impossible.
