This unforgettable half-day tour combines snorkeling in the vibrant Caribbean Sea with an exclusive exploration of a stunning private cenote and cave.

We begin by visiting the world’s second-largest barrier reef, the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef. Snorkel in a protected inlet or bay, where calm waters provide the perfect conditions to observe the vast array of tropical fish. With a bit of luck, you may also spot stingrays or even sea turtles gliding gracefully through the crystal-clear waters.

Next, we journey inland to explore one of the Yucatán Peninsula’s most breathtaking natural wonders—a private cenote and underground cavern. Cenotes are sacred to the Mayan people, believed to be entrances to the Underworld, and they provide a rare glimpse into a mystical subterranean world. Walking through the cave’s 600-meter-long passageways, you’ll marvel at stunning limestone formations, stalactites, and towering columns, learning about their slow but fascinating formation process.

The first part of the cave walk is in shallow water, about 1 meter deep (3.5 ft.), before reaching a spectacular section where the ceiling has collapsed, allowing natural light to illuminate the crystal-clear waters. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to swim in the cenote, surrounded by breathtaking rock formations and reflections that create an otherworldly atmosphere.

The Mayan Underworld Tour is ideal for those looking to snorkel near Tulum, combining vibrant marine life with the exploration of a breathtaking underground cenote.

Basic swimming skills are required, but life jackets are provided.

This tour is not recommended for those with severe claustrophobia, as some cave sections have lower ceilings (around 6 meters high).

The shared group tour is available for ages 6 and up.

For families with younger children, a private tour option is available.

What is the size of the group ?

The van will accommodate a maximum of 10 participants, in addition to the guide and driver.

Is this tour weather dependent ?

This tour operates rain or shine! In the case of severe weather or major events, we will contact you.

Is there a minimum number of participants for this tour ?

Our shared group tour requires a minimum of 4 participants. If this minimum isn't met, we may cancel the tour. In that case, we’ll contact you to offer an alternative tour or issue a refund.

How do I know my Pick Up / Drop Off time ?

Your confirmed pick-up time will depend on your hotel/villa location and the day's logistics. It will be sent to you via a personalized email and may be subject to change until 9 PM the day before your tour.

Additionally, drop-off times may vary depending on the location of your hotel/villa and the pace of each group.

Where can I be Picked Up /Dropped Off ?

Our prices include pick-up and drop-off at your hotel/villa in Tulum City and the Tulum Hotel Zone.

If you’d like to be picked up from a different location in the Riviera Maya, this is possible for an additional fee, depending on the area. When booking, you will see the available zones and their respective prices.
