Huatulco is a progressive experiment in resort development by the government-funded tourist agency Fonatur. Until the mid-1980s, this thickly forested slice of Pacific coast hosted nothing more than a few hard-to-reach fishing villages. Fonatur has successfully been developing the region’s nine ruggedly beautiful bays for tourism, without making the same mistake of over-commercialism that were made in Cancún and Ixthapa. Huatulco’s development has followed a more ecological route with big hotels being spread-out, low-rise and relatively low-key; large areas of virgin forest have been protected in a national park; and the area’s unobtrusive infrastructure doesn’t really feel like a resort town at all. Huatulco appeals to a broad cross-section of travelers who come here to appreciate what has always been the region's raison d’être: world-class beaches nestled in sheltered coves backed by broccoli-colored forest.
Huatulco is most famous for its 9 picturesque Huatulco Bays spread out over an area of 35 km. With over 36 pristine beaches and each of them boasting their own charm and allure, we are excited to show you our favorite areas, that are often only accessible by boat.
Join us on an unforgettable day discovering the magical Huatulco Bays on your private boat.
At 8:30am your friendly driver will meet you at your hotel (within Huatulco Bays zone) and drive you to the port of Huatulco, where your bi-lingual tour guide and boat captain will be waiting for you.
As we head north towards our first destination, start relaxing in the warm sun and gaze at the deep azure waters. Sometimes we are lucky and meet whales, dolphins or turtles.
We will make a quick detour to show you the lighthouse and its impressive blow-hole, which sometimes spouts immense amounts of ocean spray hundreds of feet into the air.
This tour will visit the bays of Cacaluta, Chachacual, Chahué, Órgano, Maguey, San Agustín, and Santa Cruz. Each bay will show off its unique charm. Cacaluta with its impressive, pristine beach and snorkel reef, Maguey with its azure colored waters and snorkel reef, Chachacual with its remote, serene location, often featuring turtle tracks from turtle Mommas laying eggs the night before, and San Augustine with its all-round flair, featuring pokey fishing restaurants, a vast white sand beach and a shallow snorkel reef.
After lunch (not included in tour) we will head to Chachacual bay where you can take a lazy siesta on the gorgeous white sand beach under the shade of a tree, or snorkel on a large, colorful reef.
The tour concludes at 4pm, at which time your tour guide will bring you back to the port, where your driver is waiting to return you to your hotel.
