Xochimilco, Coyoacán and Frida Kahlo Tour – Private Mexico City Tour
Discover two of Mexico City’s most magical areas, Xochimilco and the bohemian enclave of Coyoacán, the former home of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera.
Coyoacán is a place full of history, charm and legends. From the time of Hernán Cortés until today, visitors from around the world have been captivated by the beauty of the place. Coyoacán was a haven for artists; Octavio Paz walked these streets and here is the birthplace of Frida Kahlo Leon Trotsky House Museum.
The center of Coyoacán is marked by the Jardín Hidalgo, in what was the old courtyard of the former convent and parish of San Juan Bautista surrounded by colonial buildings of the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries, such as the Diego de Ordaz House and Casa Municipal, Seat of the first council of the Valle de México. In the square intellectuals and students, families and onlookers gather. It always exudes a relaxed atmosphere, it is a meeting place for coffees, meals and gatherings on the terraces of restaurants, snacks in the market or in one of the most traditional pubs in town.
TOUR OVERVIEW
Your private English speaking tour guide will pick you up from your hotel and drive to Xochimilco, our first destination. As you arrive, you will be greeted by brightly colored floats. After we board one of the vividly adorned traditional barges, also called a trajinera, we will float through the neighborhood of manmade islands and canals built on the remnants of a pre-Hispanic Aztec city. Sample local cuisine from one of the many food vendors cruising by on tiny floats and listen to the every present Mariachi sounds.
We continue our tour to the next destination, where we visit the Museo Diego Rivera Anahuacalli. Diego Rivera created this museum to hold his collection of pre-Columbian artifacts and now displays his own works as well.
Our final highlight is the Coyoacán district, where we find the Frida Kahlo Museum. The museum, also called "Casa Azul" is where the artist lived, worked and passed away. ***Please note*** Due to the Frida Kahlo museum being sold out oftentimes, we cannot include these tickets in our tour. If at the time of visiting the museum, tickets are available, you are welcome to purchase tickets and tour the museum on your own. Unfortunately, the guide has to wait outside.
Before returning to your original pickup location, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the historic neighborhood by foot and stop by the prestigious National Autonomous University of Mexico, or UNAM, to view its striking mosaic murals.

The following cancellation policy applies only for Day Tours (DOES NOT apply for Multi-Day Tours).
TOUR POLICIES
Due to the nature of our business, the logistics involved with organizing tours and the high reservation demand following refund policies apply:
- 100% refund less credit card processing fees will only be granted if booked via our website www.taotravel365.tours AND if canceled more than 24 hours before the start of the tour.
- No refund will be granted for cancelations received less than 24 hours before the tour start date.
All sales are final.
For all bookings made via outside portals such as, but not limited to Viator, Expedia, Airbnb, please refer and adhere to the respective cancellation policy of the portal that you booked with.
If you are unable to realize the reservation, contact us as soon as possible and we will try to arrange and reschedule the same or different tour for you.
If you are not at the designated meeting point by the time of your scheduled reservation or pick up, Tao Travel 365 reserves the right not to provide a refund. However, we will always try our best to locate you at the meeting point and call your WhatsApp number, if one was provided. After all, we want you to visit San Blas and to have fun. That is our goal!
CANCELED OR POSTPONED TOURS
Occasionally, tours are canceled or postponed due to weather or ocean conditions, mechanical failure, or other unforeseen events. Should this occur, we will attempt to contact you about the cancellations and to inform you of refund or exchange procedures for that tour. For exact instructions on any canceled or postponed tour, please contact us. In the case of a cancellation of your tour by Tao Travel 365, we will refund your tour or schedule you for another tour, as detailed below.
REFUNDS
All sales are final. No refunds are available unless a tour is canceled or postponed, or we are given 48 hours advance noticed whereby a 50 percent refund will be awarded. We will offer refunds of the full face value of the tour(s) that are canceled or postponed (or, if a discounted tour, then instead the discounted tour price paid). No refunds are offered on any service, payment processing or convenience fees. To receive a refund for a canceled or postponed tour, contact us at sales@taotravel365.tours within 3 days of the tour cancellation and write "refund" in the subject line. Instructions will be provided in order to obtain your refund.
TOUR EXCHANGES
No tour exchanges are offered by Tao Travel 365. While in some extreme cases we may offer this service (such as a cancellation by Tao Travel 365), it is not guaranteed and often impossible.
