Getting to Isla Perro from Panama City

The journey from Panama City to Isla Perro combines shared 4x4 transportation with a boat transfer from the Port of Cartí.

Pickup from your Panama City accommodation is normally between 5:00 and 5:45 a.m. The drive to the port takes approximately 2.5–3 hours and crosses winding mountain roads before reaching Guna Yala.

After port check-in, you will board a small boat for the approximately 25-minute journey to Isla Perro. Boat travel times vary with weather, sea conditions and passenger stops at other islands.

Shared round-trip road transportation from Panama City or Playa Bonita can be added during booking. The round-trip boat transfer is a separate charge.

Isla Perro Overnight Stay: Schedule and Approximate Times

The following schedule applies when using the shared transfers from Panama City:

• 5:00–5:45 a.m.: Pickup from your Panama City accommodation.
• Approximately 9:00 a.m.: Arrival at the Port of Cartí.
• Approximately 10:00 a.m.: Arrival on Isla Perro.
• Departure day, approximately 8:00 a.m.: Standard departure from the island.
• Approximately 1:00 p.m.: Arrival back in Panama City with standard departure and the shared road transfer.
• Optional late departure: Leave the island around 3:00–3:30 p.m., with lunch included in the $15 extra.
