San Blas Day Tour Option 1: The Classic Experience
Our classic route combines some of the best-known San Blas highlights. The planned stops are:
- Isla Perro: A palm-lined island with an offshore shipwreck that offers snorkeling opportunities when conditions allow.
- Natural Pool: A shallow sandbank with opportunities for swimming, wading and photos. Water depth varies with conditions.
- Isla Misdup: Time for the beach, swimming and a locally prepared lunch.
- Isla Diablo: An additional island stop for beach time before returning to the mainland.
Best for: First-time visitors interested in Isla Perro’s shipwreck, the Natural Pool and several island stops.
San Blas Day Tour Option 2: The Secluded Escape
Our San Blas Day Tour Option 2 offers an alternative route through the archipelago. Its planned highlights include:
- Natural Pool: A shallow-water stop for swimming and photos when conditions allow.
- Isla Yansailadup: An island visit with palm-lined beaches and time to relax.
- Isla Misdup: Beach time and opportunities to swim in Caribbean waters.
Best for: Travelers who prefer an alternative island itinerary without the Isla Perro shipwreck stop. Crowd levels vary with travel dates and local operations.
Language: The local Guna guides on Option 2 do not speak English. Please consider this when choosing your option.
Itinerary flexibility: Routes, island stops and time at each location may change because of weather, sea conditions or local operational requirements.
San Blas Day Tour Itinerary – Option 1
Your San Blas Day Tour begins with pickup from your Panama City hotel or Airbnb between approximately 5:00am and 5:45am. Travel in a shared 4x4 SUV toward the Port of Carti on a journey that typically takes approximately 2½–3 hours, with additional time possible for pickups, stops, checkpoints and traffic.
A grocery-store stop may be made along the way so you can purchase snacks and drinking water. Keep your passport or accepted identification accessible for the Guna Yala entry checkpoint.
At the port, local guides organize groups and boat departures. Waiting time may be necessary while check-in and passenger arrangements are completed.
Continue by lancha boat to the islands. The ride to the first stop typically takes approximately 25–30 minutes but may vary with the route and conditions. Boats may make additional stops to collect or drop off other guests.
Isla Perro – Approximately 1½ Hours
The planned route includes Isla Perro, known for its beach and offshore shipwreck. Swim, relax or snorkel around the wreck when conditions allow.
Shared snorkeling equipment is available in limited quantities. Bring your own mask and snorkel if possible, and avoid touching coral or marine life.
Natural Pool – Approximately 30 Minutes
Visit the Natural Pool, a shallow sandbank surrounded by Caribbean water. Enjoy opportunities to wade, swim and take photos when conditions allow.
Starfish may be visible on the sandy bottom. Observe them without touching, lifting or removing them from the water. Water depth and visibility vary with conditions.
Isla Misdup – Approximately 1½ Hours, with Lunch
Continue to Isla Misdup for beach time and a locally prepared lunch. Meal options include fish, chicken or a vegetarian option, with one included drink: water, soda or beer.
Please request vegetarian meals and advise us of dietary requirements when booking. After lunch, enjoy the beach or swim when conditions allow.
Isla Diablo – Approximately 1 Hour
The planned final island stop is Isla Diablo, where you can enjoy additional beach time before returning to the mainland.
Departure from the islands is usually around 3:00–3:30pm. Return by boat to the Port of Carti, then continue by road to Panama City, with arrival at approximately 7:00pm.
All stop durations are approximate. The planned itinerary visits three islands plus the Natural Pool. Depending on conditions, the actual route may visit two or three islands plus the Natural Pool.

- Vehicle requirement: A 4x4 vehicle is required for the self-drive option. Confirm that your vehicle and rental agreement permit the journey before setting out.
- Playa Bonita pickup: Round-trip transportation from the Playa Bonita area is available for an additional US$10 per person. Select the applicable option during booking.
- Pickup readiness: Be ready at your confirmed pickup time. Shared transfers cannot accommodate extended delays.
- Dietary requests: Request vegetarian meals and advise us of allergies or other dietary requirements before travel so we can check available arrangements.

Road Transportation

Port Check-In & Boat Transfers
- Port check-in can be busy, and waiting time may be necessary while local operators organize departures.
- The initial boat journey typically takes approximately 25–30 minutes, with timing dependent on the route and conditions.
- Boat rides can be bumpy and wet. Protect electronics and personal belongings with a dry bag.
- Boats may stop at other islands to pick up or drop off passengers.

The following cancellation policy applies only to day tours and does not apply to multi-day tours.
TOUR POLICIES
Due to the nature of our business, the logistics involved in organizing tours and high reservation demand, the following refund policies apply:
- A 100% refund, less credit-card processing fees, will only be granted when the tour was booked directly through www.taotravel365.tours and the cancellation is received more than 24 hours before the scheduled start of the tour.
- No refund will be granted for cancellations received less than 24 hours before the scheduled start of the tour.
All sales are final.
For bookings made through third-party platforms, including but not limited to Viator, Expedia and Airbnb, please refer to and follow the cancellation policy of the platform through which you booked.
If you are unable to attend your reservation, contact us as soon as possible. We will try to reschedule your reservation for the same tour or another tour when possible.
If you are not at the designated meeting point at the scheduled reservation or pickup time, Tao Travel 365 reserves the right not to provide a refund. However, we will always make a reasonable effort to locate you at the meeting point and contact the WhatsApp number provided with your reservation. We want you to participate in the tour and enjoy your experience.
CANCELED OR POSTPONED TOURS
Occasionally, tours may be canceled or postponed because of weather or ocean conditions, mechanical failure or other unforeseen circumstances. If this occurs, we will attempt to contact you and provide information about the applicable refund or rescheduling options.
For specific instructions regarding a canceled or postponed tour, please contact us. If Tao Travel 365 cancels your tour, we will issue a refund or offer to reschedule you for another tour, as detailed below.
REFUNDS
All sales are final. Refunds are not available unless a tour is canceled or postponed by Tao Travel 365, or we receive a cancellation request more than 24 hours before the scheduled start of an eligible day tour.
For eligible cancellations received more than 24 hours in advance, a 100% refund of the tour price will be issued, less payment-processing and convenience fees. If Tao Travel 365 cancels or postpones a tour, we will refund the amount paid for the affected tour. Service, payment-processing and convenience fees are nonrefundable.
To request a refund for a canceled or postponed tour, email sales@taotravel365.tours within two days of the tour cancellation and include the word “Refund” in the subject line. We will provide instructions for completing your request.
TOUR EXCHANGES
Tao Travel 365 does not ordinarily offer tour exchanges. In certain exceptional circumstances, such as a cancellation by Tao Travel 365, we may offer an exchange or rescheduling option. Availability is not guaranteed, and additional fees may apply.

A paradise in the middle of the sea The islands of San Blas are beautiful, we left on the island with the boat sunk in a private cabin, we really liked the food and the views. The beach has plenty of space to relax, sunbathe and go snorkeling next to the sunken boat. There are islands very close by that are beautiful and we went to visit them after our Czech out and our last lunch was on another island.It is worth the 3 hours by car and the 30 minutes by boat to visit this paradise. Also be sure to get your national park pass done before the tour starts for zapatilla island- they communicated that very clearly which was so nice. The day was absolutely beautiful and did not feel rushed or too much. We left at 10 and got back around 4:30. (Lunch is the last thing and only cash so make sure to eat something before you go!) He was an excellent driver & host, & very considerate, driving slower on the downhill drive to the beach when some of us became nauseous. ADVICE-take your nausea meds when you stop at the gas station! Not later! Trust me! He also made the tour extra special when he spotted a sloth, toucan & a monkey in the trees & stopped to allow us to take pictures & see them up close. He has the eyes of an eagle! Don't know HOW he spotted them while driving! Regarding the San Blas Island tour- BREATHTAKING! Absolutely LOVED this tour. If I had one negative comment it would be to skip the last island (unnecessary) & allow guests to enjoy the island where we had lunch. Getting in/out of the boat is NOT easy. 2 islands+sand bar is enough for this tour! Also, 6 people don't fit "comfortably" in these SUV's! Let guests know they have the option to purchase the extra seats! So grateful we requested only our group of 4 people in our SUV & paid $I10 extra ($55 per seat)!Posted on Tripadvisor

Swimming, snorkeling, etc. Our guides were nice and helpful. I’m glad we got to experience this. Sunscreen and bug spray are a must. We also took water shoes and found this helpful.I will say for the motion sickness people: if you are mildly motion sick, you will be fine on the last part of the drive. It’s paved most of the way. It’s a lot of steep hills and winding motions. I took Dramamine and did just fine. If you get severely motion sick, I don’t know that this would be good for you.Posted on Google

The drivers who took us there and back were friendly and considerate and the guide responded to all my questions about the Gunas, their way of life, traditions and system of governance. Just a FYI if you experience motion sickness, please take something prior to the ride through the Guna Yala territory. The rode is very winding and hilly. My friend got sick from the ride. Once we arrived at San Blas island it was absolutely amazing. The views were breathtaking. The natural pool was amazing. mansiMarch 7, 2025San Blas Bliss! Our day trip to San Blas was amazing! The day is long but so worth the beautiful beaches and placid Caribbean sea that you get to spend time in! Highly recommend! Our driver Javier picked us up on time and drove very well- even on the curvy roads in the San Blas territory! He also showed us wild life found on our way ( Toucans, Owls, Monkeys etc)The Guna guide Richard and the boat crew was also great…they made the travel between the islands seamless. The ride to get to the port at San Blas is very long, and the boat ride to the islands is a little bumpy, but trust me, it’s absolutely worth the rides. The water on these islands is crystal clear blue. You will be able to enjoy beautiful beaches and relax on these islands. Every aspect functioned smoothly - the transportation, the driver, the host at the islands, the lunch, everything. Emmanuel, the Tao Travel 365 representative I spoke with, was enormously helpful. Karen SibertNovember 23, 2024Overall, the San Blas Tour was worth the effort. Transportation was timely and much less stressful than anticipated. Roads were completely paved, and although there were lots of switchbacks through the mountains (2nd hour of the drive), I was never uncomfortable (except for the ride through the city on the return trip -- lots of potholes and terrible traffic). The first two islands we visited were amazing and beyond beautiful. Lunch was nothing special but entirely edible. The last stop was Devil's Island, which was a total disappointment and could have been left off of the itinerary. The beach was rocky, there was limited seating outside of the main patio and in general the appearance paled in comparison to the previous two. I wasn't particularly interested in island hopping and would've preferred an option to visit one island for the entire time. GunneJanuary 11, 2024Ein kleines Paradies zum Entschleunigen Ein kleines Paradies: Eine Insel in der Karibik mit 130m Durchmesser. 245 Palmen drauf, ein paar Hütten für 2-4 Personen, ein Haus mit mehreren Zimmern (sehr einfach!), einfachste Sanitäranlagen und ein Gemeinschaftsbereich, wo auch gegessen wird. Außenrum: Türkisblaues Meer zum Schwimmen und Schnorcheln. Sehr nette Gunas. Einfaches, aber leckeres Essen (Fisch und Hühnchen). Strom (Handy aufladen!) gibt es nur stundenweise und zwar nur im Gemeinschaftsbereich. Trotzdem: Gute Internetverbindung (z.B. mit TIGO). Wir waren 6(!) Tage dort und konnten superschöne Ausflüge machen. Kleiner Verbesserungsvorschlag für die Insel: Mehr Sitz- und Liegegelegenheiten zum Chillen. Auch etwas mehr zum Einkaufen (Snacks, …) wäre empfehlenswert. Kokosnüsse gibt es für teure 3 Dollar. Fazit: Eine Insel zum Entschleunigen. Wer Luxus will, ist hier falsch. 5 Sterne, weil es für uns (4 Erwachsene, 5 Kinder) trotz des hohen Preises super schön war.Posted on Tripadvisor

We saw four islands, took many pictures and met many great people Last one hour of driving was really windy with potholes as mentioned and advertised many times prior. Michael was really nice to accomodate and gave me the front seat (highly recommended) The tour was mostly just a transportation service from hotel to the various islands and back (road and boat). We didn’t meet Michael or team on this trip. Would’ve liked a tour guide present to talk more about the islands and the history of the Indians (Gunas) and their daily lives etc First and only meal service is at 12pm so highly recommend to have breakfast before the pick up at 5am or utilise the grocery store stop over at the beginning of the trip Overall a great day to San BlasPosted on Airbnb

I loved that we got the option to buy homemade purses, jewelry, and coconuts at the beach store. The roads leading to the starting point however, we’re terrible.
