Miraflores Locks and the Panama Canal

Visit the Pacific side of the Panama Canal at Miraflores, where observation areas overlook the historic locks. When ships are transiting, watch vessels move through the chambers as the water level rises or falls, and learn how this system connects the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.

Miraflores admission includes the 45-minute IMAX film about the Canal’s history and operation, narrated by Morgan Freeman. Viewing the film depends on the screening schedule and the time available during your visit.
